Saw this sign today in the lovely suburbs of zone 3. I guess here potatoes are considered green?
Is this a joke? How can you pretend eating chips (fries) is eating your greens?!

well, technically it’s a plant product. even health canada’s food guide calls it a vegetable. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/choose-choix/fruit/serving-portion_e.html
it's kind of like saying tempura vegetables aren't vegetables either.
I’m not disputing it’s a vegetable .. i’m disputing the classification “greens”. Greens are usually associated with the spinach, bok choy, kale, and other leafy green veggies.
It’s the implication that potatoes are a healthy “green” that shocks me!
ps. tempura-ed green zuchinni is awesome
mmm … with melted cheese 😉 http://farm1.static.flickr.com/156/332800569_53c4202700.jpg
